The French defender is looking forward to facing the Catalan giants
Valencia defender Adil Rami is excited about their upcoming Copa Del Rey semi-final clash against Barcelona.
The first leg will be played at the Mestalla on Wednesday night and the big Frenchman acknowledges that Barcelona are the favourites, but he is looking forward to a fantastic match.
Speaking at a press conference today, Rami said: “They are the favourites, but we have a strong case for changing this. They are the best team in the world, but we have two games against them and I think that we can beat them. We aren’t scared.”
“Barcelona have players out, but Valencia don’t have everyone available either. They are a team who can afford to have players sidelined, because they have world champions on the bench.”
Rami has missed Valencia’s last two matches due to a muscle injury but the defender is working very hard to be fit and he is optimistic that he will be ready for Wednesday.
Also at the press conference, Rami was helping to promote the club’s new campaign, to encourage the fans to get behind the team at the Mestalla on Wednesday night and Rami issued a rallying cry to all Valencianistas in a special video.
In the video he said: “They tell me about incredible goals. They tell me about how the mere mention of our name would make them shiver. They tell me about wins which took us closer to glory. I don’t know whether to believe them, but I want to experience it now.”
