The Actual Situation of Valencia CF
We all know that Valencia have not been going through
...The Argentinean signs on at the Mestalla for another 3 years
Ever Banega officially signed his contract extension with Valencia this week. The Argentine international has renewed his contract at the Mestalla until 30th June 2015.
Banega agreed to the contract extension a couple of weeks ago but he officially put pen to paper at a special press conference at the club’s headquarters to celebrate the midfielder’s long-term commitment to Valencia.
Banega wanted to thank the Valencia board for giving him a chance to be a success at the club and sticking by him and he said he wants to ”pay back their faith on the pitch” and he hopes that he can help deliver a trophy for the Mestalla faithful.
Speaking at the press conference Banega said: ”I have improved a lot on both a professional and personal level. I now see that I have to enjoy every moment. I was very young when I came here and it was a little difficult to adapt, but now that it has been a year I am very happy. I hope to continue to be so.”
“I like to take things day by day. I am working hard in order to get as many minutes to my name as possible and to do a good job on and off the pitch.”
Banega also stated that despite all the rumours that have constantly linked with him with a move away from Valencia in the past, he never considered leaving.
”I have always said that I am happy at the club, that I wanted to stay here and that I hope to be here for many years to come,” said the 23 year-old midfielder.
Valencia President Manuel Llorente was also present at the press conference and he was very happy that Banega has chosen to commit his future to the club.
”On a personal level, Éver Banega is one of the best that I have seen at Valencia. We are happy to have him carry on at the club, to keep providing assists and to keep popping up with goals,” said Llorente.
After a difficult start to his Valencia career, when he signed for around €18 million from Boca Juniors in 2008, Banega was loaned out to Atletico Madrid for a season and it looked almost certain that he would turn out to be another expensive flop for Los Che and that he would be sold.
But under the faith of Unai Emery, Banega has managed to turn his career around at Valencia and he has established himself as one of the club’s most influential players, particularly after the sales of David Villa, David Silva and Juan Mata.
Banega is a firm fans’ favourite at the Mestalla and news that the Argentine will remain at the club for the forseeable future will be music to their ears.
