The Argentine coach, who has been to Paterna, confirms that Tino could play in the next friendly.

Argentinian national football team coach Sergio Batista speaks during a press conference at a hotel in Escazu, Costa Rica, on March 28, 2011. Argentina arrived in Costa Rica to play a friendly match against the country's national team on March 29.

Tino Costa could soon be wearing the blue and white of Argentina.  The coach of the national side, Sergio Batista, was  today at Paterna in Valencia in order to talk to Éver Banega ahead of the Copa América, and at the same time, has recognised Valencia’s other Argentine midfielder, and says that he could soon get his chance.  “Tino is on a list of players that could travel with the national side to play against Nigeria.  We are watching him.  He is a player that could have a future.”

The next friendly against Nigeria is scheduled for the 1st of June, and Tino could be making his debut for the country of his birth.  It should be noted that Batista’s main reason for travelling to Valencia was to speak to Éver Banega, a player that is an ever-present in Batista’s squads.  “Éver is a great player.   He is very important to us, and we want him at the Copa América,” assured Batista at Paterna.
