More and more clubs are looking at the left back.

VALENCIA, SPAIN - APRIL 10: Jeremy Mathieu of Valencia in action during the La Liga match between Valencia and Villarreal at Estadio Mestalla on April 10, 2011 in Valencia, Spain. Valencia won 5-0.

Jérémy Mathieu continues to accumulate admirers.  A representative from German club, Bayern Munich, travelled to Valencia on Saturday to watch him play against Real Madrid.

According to AS, it’s not the first time that the German club have taken note of Mathieu.  In fact, up until now, AS claim that they have watched him in all of the big games against big sides, live at the stadium.  They watched him against Barcelona, against Schalke 04 in the Champions League, and on Saturday against Real Madrid.

Bayern are yet to make formal contact with Valencia, and are yet to make an offer, though their sporting director has publically stated that they need to sign two or three defenders, and one of the positions that they need to strengthen is left back.

Having said all that, Valencia do not intend to sell Mathieu.  On the contrary, Los Che want him to sign a new contract as soon as possible.
