Valencia will look forward to their home tie against Cádiz after drawing them away in the first game of the Copa del Rey.

Valencia could only manage a draw without goals today after having many chances.

Dani Parejo had a nice shot in the ninth minute, but it was just wide. Ten minutes later Pablo plays a great diagonal pass to Aduriz who misses a great opportunity to score the first.

Valencia remained attacking with Aduriz still not managing to find the back of the net.

The second half was more of the same, Valencia still trying to score but was unlucky. Soldado and Mathieu were introduced, but an organized Cádiz proved tough to defeat.

Ever Banega made his return in the 81st minute after missing a bit more than a month due to injury.

The home game against Cádiz will be next Thursday the 22nd of December.

Valencia CF: Guaita, Barragán, Rami, Dealbert, J. Alba, Albelda, Parejo, Pablo Hernandez (Maithieu, min 67), Jonas (Soldado, min. 60), Piatti and Adúriz (Banega, min 81).

    Play Paco!

disappointing we should win this match so we don’t worry about the second one

Were playing a third division team here, we shouldnt have to worry about the second match with a draw either. Especially since its at home.
That said if they play as unmotivated as today any match is gonna be hard, though if they try that at Mestalla there will be a nice wistle concert as encouragement no doubt.

Was good to see Banega back, he’s still fantastic :D The alcohol and hamburgers haven’t gotten to him yet!

Not pleased with the result, but some things I liked about the game yesterday. The performance of Dealbert was great! Better in defense then Rami, leading the defense and showing great encouragement. Dani Parejo played a very good game and also Piatti was decent, altough he should have easily scored that massive chance in the 47th minute.
And Banega is back! AMUNT! :)

I agree with the above poster in that Dani Parejo had a really good game and he was very good in possesion, always looking for openings etc.

Also on the subject of Dealbert I agree he was excellent and seemed to really thrive on the opportunity, he was dishing out some b*llockings to his team mates and showing a real passion for the shirt

How come we cannot score in Cadiz…
