Colotto Is The Economical Option For The Centre Back Position

The Argentine is an option for the centre back position and his contract expires at the end of the season.

One of the six position that Valencia are looking to enforce for next season is the centre back position. A player who will be able to compete with Adil Rami and Victor Ruiz. Thus, Diego Colotto has impressed the scouting team who have added him in the shortlist of centre backs the team could sign for next season.

The plan for the centre back position is to keep Adil Rami and Victor Ruiz unless a huge change of direction occurs. Angel Dealbert must respond to the contract offer he was offered this month. Ricardo Costa doesn’t look to fit in the plans of the team and could be set for a move before the start of next season.

Diego Colotto is a 30 year old centre back who plays for Deportivo La Coruña who has impressed Braulio Vazquez after the Sporting Director watched him on a number of occasions. Other players that Valencia have been linked with are Lisandro López (Arsenal de Sarandi), Dede (Basque da Gama) and Rhodolfo (Sao Paulo).

Would prefer someone younger who can improve and grow to get a regular spot. With sell-on value as well..

Umm no. Wait, make that a HELL NO! Not even close to a good defender (4th choice maybe). 30 years old? Seriously, do we want to move the team forward and challenge the top two or just keep praying for another year in champions league? Shouldn’t even be in the shortlist!

    Remember barragan

lisandro lopez would be awesome to get…but he’s also being watched by other big clubs.

he’d go to valencia if he was smart ;)

He said he’ll be staying with Arsenal de Sarandi for the next 6 months.

What we really need is right winger cose pablo  hadn’t any good games for us this season and feghouli is to unexperience. if it would be on me,list from most important position improvement would be:
    1.right winger
    2.central defender
    3. defensive midfielder
    4. right fullback
    5. striker

Miguel will not be renewed so our main target should be right back.

it´s shame…miguel for me is one of aur best players this season. I know that he is party boy and so,but i think, he is really good now.

You do know that Pablo is our assist leader and Feghouli has as much potential as anyone else in La Liga. Feghouli has to most potential in our team but if we would sell Pablo it would be good to have someone to compete with.

I would still extend his contract, yes he had lots of problems outside the club, but I dont remember last time his behavior was a problem in mach – no stupid arguing with reffs like soldado,no stupid fouls or risky plays, just simple and most everytime solid defense and often suply good servises on right flang where we don’t really have anybody (pablo form is just horrible and feghouli is inconsistant and more inside forward than winger.)
    p.s. sorry for bad spelling

I like Miguel when he’s on form like now. But I very much doubt he wouldn’t make troubles if he got the second choise after VdW.

I would love if he could compete with VdW next season and behaving well, but I’m not convinced it will be so.

    • Cile

Well, against Sevilla he got a yellow card for almost starting a fight with another player from Sevilla. He may be composed during matches but to me he looks like a time-bomb waiting for someone to “detonate him”.

  • B.G

He’d just show Van Der Wiel around the city, how to get weapons and stuff.. Recruit him to his gang and trash stores for amusement.. Miguel has to go, like it or not.

Colotto is a decent defender, better then Ricardo Costa and Dealbert, although I really like Dealbert as a person who keeps working hard every day.
Lisandro López would be great … for the future. I want a defender who is capable of competing NOW, not in one or two years. And López will be too expensive in the summer, as a lot of big teams want him. It’s not just the talent, it’s also about the experience we need in the dressing room. Colotto is cheap and reliable for one or two seasons. I haven’t seen games from the other two. ¡Amunt!

  • Jafar

Too be honest I haven’t seen him often enough. If we would get him it would be good, if he plays well of course but I rather get Botia or López the other defenders have been linked with. I’m not too keen about getting players from the second division but he does have experience in La Liga unlike Barragan. Overall if we would get him it wouldn’t be bad but I think we can get better players.

i still wish for Antoine Griezmann from real sociedad and ofc a defender

I don’t know, but feels like Valencia needs an overhaul. Emery failed in successfully inducting in some of the new players like Parejo and Piatti. He also failed in advancing Pablo and Topal to the next level of the game. He has a hand in the deterioration of both Aduriz and Costa. Dealbert is very lucky to be preferred over Costa after the great last season Costa performed, while Dealbert showed some huge mistakes and late movements. This is rediculous.

Although I was always an Emery fan, I believe a change of coach should be analyzed by the specialists…
