The French full-back is a target for Los Che 
Lille full-back Mathieu Debuchy has confirmed that he has had ‘contacts’ with Valencia regarding a move to the Mestalla in the summer.
SuperDeporte first reported Valencia’s interest in the French full-back in February and now the Frenchman has admitted that Valencia are interested in signing him in the summer.
Speaking to French television channel Canal +, he said: ”I have had contacts with Valencia, but my mind is currently focused solely on Lille until the end of the season.”
”I want to focus on the objectives here at Lille and that is to reach the Champions League next season.”
When he was asked if he would be quitting Lille at the end of the season, he replied: ”We’ll see at the end of the season, for the moment I am with Lille. But if I do leave, I will be moving abroad”
The 26 year-old full-back has been in excellent form Lille for in the French Ligue 1 this season and that form has already earnt him his first call up to the France national side this season.
Debuchy recently started for France in their friendly against Germany, the full-back assisted both goals in the 2-1 win for France.
If Debuchy does join Valencia he will become the second French international to join Los Che from Lille in the last two years, after they also signed Adil Rami from the French champions.
