Bayern Munich 2-1 Valencia CF
Valencia faced a very tough test on their first appearance in...
As the season approaches its final stretch the inevitable Valencia transfer rumours are beginning to circulate.
With the sale of both Davids last summer Valencia’s most valuable players now consist of the likes of Juan Manuel Mata and Éver Banega.
And Superdeporte is reporting that Banega’s agent is looking across Europe for the potential move of his client. Nothing has been decided yet according to the Spanish daily but after failing to meet expectations at Valencia this season the Argentine is said to be considering his options.
It has been a year of few highlights for Éver Banega – following last season’s burst onto the football scene - making a name for himself across Europe and with his national coach.
Flashes of the Banega Valencia fans would sooner forget began to reappear early this season with his off-pitch behaviour seeping into match performances.
And playing-time became hard to come by for the midfielder under an unimpressed Unai Emery who called upon fellow fellow Argentine Tino Costa instead.
And Éver’s reintroduction into the team was drawn out by weak performances and a bizarre case of gastroenteritis.
Neither club nor player impressed with the situation, it might be no more surprising that Éver is considering his options than it would be for Valencia to consider serious offers.
At his best Banega is a world-class player. “Éver is a footballer who loves to give many options of play and is very important. See how he moves and you think: Damn, what a player!” is the praise from coach Unai Emery.
But Valencia hasn’t seen the best of Éver Banega this season and the club is known to be in the market for players. So perhaps we’re getting a sneak preview of where this transfer money will come from.
