Valencia faced a very tough test on their first appearance in...
Valencia finally end their run of bad results in La Liga after beating Granada by the minimum.
There was no room for error, Valencia had to get the correct result today. They were not going to have an easy game however, as Granada stood up to Valencia, attacking almost the entire 90 minutes.
Soldado, after returning from scoring a hat trick against Venezuela with the Spanish national team, was surprisingly not on the score sheet. Having three chances, he could not convert them.
Feghouli got the only goal of the night, near the half hour mark after receiving a pass from Jonas to cut inside before shootiing to goal. Granada keeper Julio Cesar struggled with the shot trying to save it, but it crept passed him rolling very slowly into the goal.
Granada was not discouraged and continued to attack the rest of the game, but with a solid Guaita in the back, Valencia kept the result. Jordi Alba picked up a knock near the 80th minute, and was replaced by Piatti.
