Valencia finally end their run of bad results in La Liga after beating Granada by the minimum.

There was no room for error, Valencia had to get the correct result today. They were not going to have an easy game however, as Granada stood up to Valencia, attacking  almost the entire 90 minutes.

Soldado, after returning from scoring a hat trick against Venezuela with the Spanish national team, was surprisingly not on the score sheet. Having three chances, he could not convert them.

Feghouli got the only goal of the night, near the half hour mark after receiving a pass from Jonas to cut inside before shootiing to goal. Granada keeper Julio Cesar struggled with the shot trying to save it, but it crept passed him rolling very slowly into the goal.

Granada was not discouraged and continued to attack the rest of the game, but with a solid Guaita in the back, Valencia kept the result. Jordi Alba picked up a knock near the 80th minute, and was replaced by Piatti.

Granada CF: Julio César, Fran Rico, Siqueira, Ighalo (Uche, min. 53), Íñigo López, Borja Gómez, Jaime (Abel Gómez, min. 76), Dani Benítez (Geijo, min. 60), Franco Jara, Mikel Rico and Cortés.

Valencia CF:  Guaita, Bruno, Rami, Topal, Jonas (Aduriz, min. 75), Feghouli (Pablo H., min. 73), Soldado, Jordi Alba (Piatti, min. 80), Víctor Ruiz, Mathieu and Tino Costa.

yes we won – yes am happy
but we really don’t deserve the 3 points after this poor performance!

very poor performance from the team. Tino Costa especially sucks!

  • Keivois

Agree with SlickR, very poor performance, 9 yellow cards against Granada???? come on, not convincing at all…….something is seriously wrong!

I can’t believe this is the same team that denied Barca at the start of the year…Hope Parejo plays against psv. otherwise we lost already. Even Albelda/Topal would probably be better than the out of form Tino

  • Santi

    at least psv lost

Winning with just a goal against Granada doesn’t sound like a win. Somebody has to do something before we lose that 3rd spot to Levante, and what’s going on with Tino. Is it that he has not yet recovered from the injury? And Soldier? What is he up to?
