Valencia reach the quarter final after drawing in Holland.
Diego Alves was in the spotlight for much of the first half because Valencia were up against an attack minded side. Valencia could not get many chances except for Jordi Alba a couple minutes before half time. The young left winger chipped the ball over goalkeeper Tyton, but he saved it in an instant.
Valencia scored about a minute after the second half started it. It was off of a corner, which was cleared out of the box to Feghouli who took a shot which went for Adil Rami who hit it to the opposite side surprising the keeper. Valencia had even more of an advantage and it looked good for them.
The goal did not change the game, and PSV resumed on the offence. Ola Toivonen equalized in the 62nd minute after receiving a cross, which was flicked back to him leaving him in front of the goal to finish.
However danger never seemed to cross Valencia’s path, as PSV never capitalised on their chances.
Rami received a red card near the 90th minute for what seemed to be aggression on Toivonen. Rami will miss the next game due to the sending off. With six minutes of added time, this could’ve been a major scare for Los Che, with Ruiz and Ricardo Costa out to injury. However, the away side kept composure and finished the game with no major threats.
The game ended level and Valencia will be a part of tomorrow’s draw for the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
