Valencia ease past Stoke City to face PSV in the Round of 16.

Stoke were most dangerous in the air, and Valencia knew that. Kenwyne Jones was their most dangerous man, almost scoring on two occasions. Jonas scored in the 23rd minute after captain Pablo Hernandez made a great play for Jonas to finish.

After the goal, Valencia dominated possession and Stoke were not as offensive. Valencia did not get many more chances after the goal.

The second half came and Stoke tried to go forward again, but a solid Dealbert helped the cause. Valencia again dominated in the last twenty minutes, but no goals were scored in the second half.

Dani Parejo was active throughout the game testing the keeper and showing off his passing ability. After the game he said he’s going to “give everything I’ve got” to remain active in the team. He knows this is his moment after realizing Banega will be out for up to six months.

Valencia’s next opponent is PSV Eindhoven, and they will play on the 8th and 15th of March.

Valencia CF: Guaita, Bruno, Rami, Dealbert, Jordi Alba, Parejo, Topal, Pablo Hernández, Piatti (Feghouli, min. 63), Jonas (Soldado, min. 63) and Aduriz.

Stoke City: Sorensen, Diao, Huth, Woodgate, Collins, Arismendi (Shotton, min. 66), Delap, Palacios (Pennant, min. 66), Jerome, Jones and Fuller.
